Coal remains a leading export commodity for Aceh, with India being the primary destination for exports from Nagan Raya and West Aceh. Ahmadriswan Nasution, Head of the Aceh Province BPS, reported on Monday (2/8/2024) that Aceh's export value for July 2024 was 60 million USD or IDR 930 billion, marking an 8% decrease from the previous month. He highlighted that coal remains Aceh's main export, valued at 37.9 million USD, with India as the primary recipient, accounting for 37 million USD or IDR 573 billion. The largest export commodity from Aceh to India in July 2024 was coal, valued at 37,029,883 USD or IDR 573 billion. The United States ranked second with exports worth 9,259,885 USD, primarily coffee, followed by Thailand with 3,317,912 USD, mainly coal. In July 2024, commodities from Aceh were exported through ports within Aceh province amounting to 53,855,947 USD, a 38.69% increase, with the remainder exported through ports in other provinces, valued at 39,393,017 USD. The highest export value outside Aceh was through North Sumatra Province at 21,011,395 USD.
