The Ambon Marine and Fisheries Product Quality Control and Monitoring Agency (BPPMHKP) recorded that Maluku's grouper fish exports reached IDR 48 billion in the first half of 2024. This value was achieved from exporting 200,008 grouper fish over the past seven months, according to BPPMHKP Ambon Head Hatta Arisandi on Monday in Ambon. The export value increased by 67% compared to the same period in 2023, which was IDR 29 billion, equivalent to 121,811 grouper fish. Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia are the largest importers of Maluku's live fish products, with live grouper being among the most favored. Besides grouper, other live fish commodities such as crabs, wrasse, and kaci-kaci also contribute significantly to Maluku's export value.
Hatta highlighted that these achievements result from concerted efforts to enhance services and synergy with relevant agencies. The export of Maluku's fisheries commodities is a product of the hard work and commitment of BPPMHKP Ambon and related institutions like Ambon Customs, the Maluku Marine and Fisheries Department, and the Maluku Industry and Trade Department, ensuring ease in licensing and export services from Maluku. To expedite export services, BPPMHKP Ambon has implemented public service innovations, including a proactive approach through the Tatihu rapid response team. Additionally, they offer 24-hour export certification services and the Fast Virtual Service System (Silapatua), which reaches all districts and cities in Maluku for the certification of the Integrated Quality Management Program (PMMT)/HACCP and the Good Fish Quarantine Practices (CKIB).
