Products produced by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and the creative industry in South Sumatra are guaranteed to be of high quality to compete in the market. The South Sumatra provincial government ensures that continuous development and support are provided by both the government and state-owned enterprises (BUMN) as well as private entities.

South Sumatra Vice Governor, Mawardi Yahya stated that South Sumatra is ranked among the top 10 regions in terms of progress in the creative industry sector. Mentoring programs are also conducted in various government agencies, including the Department of Industry, Department of Cooperatives, Dekranasda, and SMEs, including BUMN/BUMD entities. The Vice Governor also noted that there are already more than 2,000 MSMEs engaged in food supply, crafts, and creative industries such as wood carving, assistive devices for people with disabilities, and digital design. In addition to promoting these products, the government also strive to ensure that MSMEs present high-quality products that are well-received by the public. For marketing support, the South Sumatra provincial government regularly organizes various events involving MSMEs, such as the annual Sriwijaya Expo, and they also involve MSMEs in expos held in other regions such as Bandung, West Java.
