Bappenas Sets Target of 7% Economic Growth for Indonesia by 2045

The National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) targets Indonesia's economic growth to reach an average of 7% by 2045, emphasizing the importance of economic transformation. By 2045, the transformation targets include a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of USD 9.8 trillion, positioning Indonesia as the world's fifth-largest economy. The Gross National Income (GNI) per capita is targeted at USD 30,000, with an 80% middle-income class. Furthermore, the average investment growth is projected to reach 6.8%.
 
The transformation towards Indonesia's economic vision for 2045 consists of four stages. The first stage, from 2025 to 2029, focuses on perfecting the downstreaming of natural resources, strengthening research, innovation, and workforce productivity, with an economic growth range of 5.7%-5.9%. The second stage, from 2030 to 2034, aims for a massive increase in productivity, with economic growth ranging from 6.1% to 7.0%. In the third stage, from 2035 to 2039, Indonesia envisions itself as an economic powerhouse integrated with global and domestic supply chains, with robust exports. The targeted economic growth ranges from 7.0% to 8.0%. The fourth stage will be the final stage, from 2040 to 2045, aims for Indonesia to become a high-income country with an economic growth range of 5.8% to 7.1%.

Minister of National Development Planning and Head of Bappenas, Suharso Monoarfa, shares optimism that Indonesia will continue to grow in line with the journey towards achieving Indonesia Emas 2045 (Golden Indonesia). The national development plan serves as a guideline for all stakeholders, including government and non-government entities, in the country.
