Maluku's Exports in Semester I 2022 Increase by 298.86%

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Maluku Province stated that the export value in Maluku in the January-June period or the first semester of 2022 reached USD 41.17 million. This export value increased by 298.86% compared to the January-June 2021 period. "Cumulatively, Maluku's export value in the January-June 2022 period was recorded at USD 41.17 million or an increase of around 298.86% compared to the same period in January-June 2021," said Asep Riyadi, Head of the Maluku Province BPS in Ambon, Tuesday. (2/8/2022). He explained that the increase in Maluku's export value in the January-June 2022 period was supported by export activities of fishery commodities with a value of USD 14.84 million. Meanwhile, exports of oil and gas (oil and gas) in the form of crude petroleum oil reached a value of USD 26.33 million. Exports of non-oil and gas commodities worth USD 14.84 million in the form of tuna, fresh pocket tuna, tuna loin, squid, live grouper, parrot fish, Rajabau fish, shrimp, mud crab, gum copal. In addition, there are also natural products for industry such as nutmeg, mace, eucalyptus oil and spare parts for other machines. "During the January-June 2022 period, Maluku's export volume reached 38.71 thousand tons, an increase of 2,305.62% compared to the same period in 2021," he said. He explained that Maluku exports to ASEAN member countries in January-June 2022, the largest of which is to Singapore, worth USD 3.16 million or an increase of 1.46% compared to the same period in 2021. In other Asian countries, India has export value. the highest was 64.04% of Maluku's total exports, followed by China which experienced an increase of 86.06 percent, on the contrary to Japan it decreased by 31.21% compared to the same period in 2021.

Meanwhile, Maluku's exports in June 2022 reached USD 27.05 million, an increase of around 242.66% compared to exports in May 2022. Maluku's exports in June 2022 came from the oil and gas and non-oil and gas sectors. He added that cumulatively the export value of commodities from Maluku exported from ports outside Maluku in January-June 2022 reached USD 14.30 million, or an increase of 88.65% compared to the same period in 2021. Meanwhile, the total value of exports through ports outside Maluku in June 2022 it reached USD 3.21 million, an increase of 25.94% compared to May 2022.
